Utsavas 2011-2012

The Utsavas viz. Guru Poornima (15th July 2011), Univercal Brotherhood Day (11th September 2011), Sadhana Diwas (19th November 2O11), Gita Jayanti (6th December 2011), Samartha Bharat Parva (25th December 2011 - 12th January 2012) and Vivekananda Jayanti (12th January 2012) were celebrated in the VKVs with great enthusiasm. Some programmes that deserve special mention are:
Guru Poornima: Speech on Guru-shishya Parampara and Guru bhajans in various Vidyalayas. 


Universal Brotherhood Day: Songs, skits & speeches on Swamiji's life and message, presentation of famous Chicago Address by students in most VKVs, a Prabhat Ferry with a large number of local people including students and parents (VKV, Umrangso), an Inter-School Declamation Competition with 27 participants from 8 nearby schools (VKV, Baragolai) and a special programme to spread the message of Swami Vivekananda in Nalanda Public School (VKV Nalbari).
Sadhana Diwas: Skits and speeches on Eknathji's life and works by students and teachers of various Vidyalayas, Akhanda Ramcharit Manas Path and community lunch by VKV Tinsukia.
Gita Jayanti: Gita Chanting Competition (Gita Jnana Yajna) among the students in all the Vidyalayas, a skit presenting the message of Srimad Bhagavat Gita by some students of VKV (NEEPCO) Umrangso, a special speech on the significance of the Gita by Dr.K.K. Handique, a retired lecturer at VKV, Sivasagar.
Samarth Bharat Parva & Vivekananda Jayanti: Sport events for public & an Inter-School Mini-marathon with more than 400 student participants of Tinsukia town (VKV Tinsukia), a prize-money Mini-marathon with 114 participants (VKV Baragolai), a Mini-marathon & a Prabhat Ferry (VKV, Doyang), talks by eminent personalities from different fields VKV, Ramnagar, Silchar, Samuhik Surya Namaskar (VKV, Umrangso), a procession involving students of different colleges of Nalbari district (VKV, Nalbari), speeches delivered by parents and social workers in Morning Assembly on 'India's Achievements in Different Fields' & a grand rally of a thousand people on National Youth Day (VKV, Dibrugarh).
