About Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Borojalenga

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Borojalenga is a co educational institution established in 2014 at Borojalenga in Cachar district. School follows CBSE curriculum and the educational activities practiced at school are inspired by the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. With English as the medium of instruction, equal emphasis is also given to Hindi, Sanskrit and Bengali. 
To cater to all round personality development of students, due importance is given to co curricular activities. Art, Karate, Dance and Music are also included to help students develop their inner faculties like self confidence, righteousness, discipline and duty to the society. We are committed to generating students with high moral values for maintaining love and respect for our rich cultural heritage. Students’ participation in all the activities of school and enormous encouragement from parents is vital to the Vidyalaya. 

 

History of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Borojalenga

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Borojalenga initially started operating as Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Assam University Campus from 2007 with 43 students and five teachers with Sri Bijan Saha as the headmaster. From 2007 July to 2012 March the vidyalaya continued functioning in the Assam University Campus. The vidyalaya shifted to Irongmara near Assam University in 2012 in a rented accommodation. An amount of Rs 1.50 Lac was collected by parents and well wishers for immediate necessary expenditure to start the school in a newly constructed cachcha school building with 10 class rooms. At that time there were 150 students and 9 teachers. From 2012 to 2014 vidyalaya functioned in the name of Vivekananda Vidyalaya Irongmara. In 2014 student strength was 250. Late Smt Radhika Dubey, a well wisher donated 7 bighas of land which is located in a tea garden area at Borojalenga in 2014. Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Borojalenga started on 1st January 2014 and the vidyalaya was finally established and renamed as Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Borojalenga on 1st April 2014. The construction work in the newly procured land started in April 2015. In the mean time the school continued working in the rented accommodation at Irongmara as Vivekananda Vidyalaya Irongmara, Campus as construction work at Borojalenga was going on for new school building. The school got financial support from many parents, well wishers from the locality, lecturers of Assam University, well wishers of Kendra from various parts of India, NRL Golaghat Assam. On 1st April 2018 the vidyalaya finally shifted to the newly constructed school building at Borojalenga and Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Borojalenga started running in full swing with 390 students and 17 teachers.  With an overwhelming support of the people of the locality and cooperation of parents the vidyalaya has overcome difficulties at various stages in its growth. Recently school got a financial aid from LIC GJF for construction of class rooms. At present there are 14 classrooms with 3 smart classes, one primary section and a separate secondary block, 18 teachers and 380 students. So far 7 batches of class X have passed out of the vidyalaya with brilliant academic performance.
