VKV Golaghat Celebrates World Environment Day

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Golaghat, a leading educational institution, marked World Environment Day with a series of engaging and informative activities, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices. Students from kindergarten to high school participated in a diverse range of events tailored to their age and interests.

Primary School Activities:

The youngest learners, from kindergarten to Class V, embraced the spirit of the day through hands-on activities like planting saplings, identifying leaves, exploring the school campus's flora, and visiting the Robin Banerjee Museum. They also showcased their creativity by making masks of natural objects, decorating the display board with artwork and poems, and adorning earthen pots with saplings.

Middle and High School Activities:

Students in Classes VI to VIII delved deeper into environmental themes, with activities like stone painting, crafting bird feeders and fairy gardens from waste materials, and composing slogans highlighting the significance of forests and a clean environment.

Inter-House Competitions:

The school organized Inter-House competitions for Classes IX to XII, encouraging students to express their environmental concerns and ideas through mime, PowerPoint presentations, and poster-making. These competitions fostered a spirit of healthy competition and teamwork while raising awareness about critical environmental issues.

Guest of Honor:

Sri Bubul Sarmah, a renowned environmentalist and conservation activist from Kaziranga, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His insightful speech shed light on the perils of climate change and the urgent need for individual and collective action to mitigate its effects. Respected Shova didi, Secretary of VKSPV, also graced the celebration, underscoring the importance of environmental education and sustainability efforts.
